Le Botswana a pour capitale Gaborone. Sa population est de 2 562 122 (Banque mondiale, 2025). Selon le World Factbook de la CIA, son système de gouvernement est : république parlementaire. Président Duma Gideon Boko (en fonction depuis le 1er novembre 2024) est chef de l’État; Vice-président Ndaba Nkosinathi Gaolathe est le suppléant. Le pouvoir législatif est le Parliament. C’est un organe unicameral. Il compte 69 sièges. La plus récente élection nationale enregistrée par IFES ElectionGuide a eu lieu le 30 octobre 2024.
