Le Rwanda a pour capitale Kigali. Sa population est de 14 569 341 (Banque mondiale, 2025). Selon le World Factbook de la CIA, son système de gouvernement est : république présidentielle. The President of the Republic of Rwanda Paul Kagame (en fonction depuis le 22 avril 2000) est chef de l’État; Premier ministre Justin Nsengiyumva est chef du gouvernement. Le pouvoir législatif est le Parlement (Parliament). C’est un organe bicameral. La Chamber of Deputies (Chambre des Députés) compte 80 sièges. La Senate (Sénat) compte 26 sièges. La plus récente élection nationale enregistrée par IFES ElectionGuide a eu lieu le 15 juillet 2024. La source indique que la prochaine élection nationale est attendue en 15 July 2029. Les élections sont organisées par National Electoral Commission (NEC). Soraya M. Hakuziyaremye est indiqué comme gouverneur de la banque centrale.
