How Dr. Saidu strengthens PollsAfrica studies
On a PollsAfrica study, a key expert is a named person who answers for the work, not a name on a list. Dr. Saidu helps in four areas.
Macroeconomic and price context
Survey findings on household money, prices and jobs mean more when set beside what was happening to inflation, the exchange rate and the wider economy at the time. He helps us frame that context and keep it accurate.
Inflation and cost of living
He reviews how questions about prices and the cost of living are worded, and whether the changes people report fit the wider price picture.
Oil and exchange rate analysis
Where a study touches fuel prices, oil revenue or the naira, he advises on how those movements feed through to households and firms, and what the data can and cannot support.
Research design review
He reads the design, the questionnaire and the draft findings from an economist's point of view, and tells us where a conclusion goes further than the evidence.
His role is to give economic context and a second pair of eyes. PollsAfrica stays responsible for every study and for what we publish.
