Add a question to a Nigeria national survey: place your questions in our phone survey waves

You do not need to commission a whole survey to ask Nigerians a question. Place up to a few questions in a wave we are already running, and receive your results with a full method statement.

Who it is for

Development partners, media organisations, NGOs, and companies that want a clean answer to a few questions from a national sample of adults, without the cost and lead time of a stand-alone study.

How it works

  1. Choose a wave. The table below lists the waves we have planned, with fieldwork dates and the deadline for questions.
  2. Send your questions. Up to 3 questions per wave, each with its answer options and the group it is meant for.
  3. We review the wording. We check each question for neutrality and clarity, and tell you what we would change and why. Nothing is changed without your agreement.
  4. We field it. Your questions are asked in the same interviews as the rest of the wave, in the order we set to avoid one question colouring another.
  5. You get the results. They arrive with a method statement in the client study room dashboard.

What you get

  • Results for each of your questions among all respondents, and for groups such as region, gender and age where there are at least 100 interviews in the group.
  • A method statement: sponsor, fieldwork dates, sample, mode, sampling frame, weighting, margin of error and the exact wording asked.
  • Access to the live fieldwork and results in the client study room.
  • If results are published, the release names the sponsor and shows the exact wording, as every PollsAfrica release does. Whether and when your results are published is agreed in writing before fieldwork.

Questions close 7 days before fieldwork starts, so there is time to review wording. Later waves are added to this table once their dates are set. If a wave is closed, we can place your questions in the next one.

Sample

The national phone sample size comes from the plan for each wave, and we state it with your results. NigeriaPolls National Pulse, Wave 1 plans 300 completed interviews with adults aged 18 and over. At that size the margin of error on a result near half is about 5.7 percentage points, before the effect of weighting, and it is wider for any group within the sample. A wave of this size answers national headline questions. It does not support fine breakdowns, and we show a breakdown only where the group has at least 100 interviews. If you need a larger sample or a specific region, tell us and we will scope a stand-alone study instead.

Paid panel pulses

For a quicker, lighter reading, you can place questions in a paid pulse sent to members of our opted-in panel. Panel results describe panel members who answered, not the whole population, and we label them that way. Tell us in the enquiry which of the two you want, or ask us to advise.

Our non-partisan rule

We take no questions from political parties or candidates, and no questions that ask people whom to vote for on a party's or a candidate's behalf. We do not accept leading or loaded wording, or questions designed to produce a stated result. Read the standards and corrections policy.

Send an enquiry

Tell us the wave you want, your questions with answer options, the organisation they are for and when you need the results. No price is quoted on this page. We reply with a scoped proposal to the email you give, or write to research@pollsafrica.com.
