Brand tracking

See whether people know you, use you and prefer you, and watch it change quarter by quarter.

A brand tracker asks the same questions of a similar group of people on a schedule. It tells you whether awareness is growing, whether people who know you also use you, and where a competitor is catching up. The value comes from repeating the method exactly, so every wave is comparable with the last.

Who it is for

  • Consumer brands launching or defending a position.
  • Agencies that need evidence for a client campaign.
  • Investors and partners who want an outside read on a brand.

What we do

  • Agree the category, the brands to include and the audience.
  • Run a first wave to set the starting point, then repeat on a fixed schedule.
  • Keep the sample design, the weighting and the question order the same every time.
  • Flag when a change is bigger than the uncertainty in the sample.

What you get

  • Awareness, consideration, usage and preference for each brand.
  • Movement since the previous wave, with a note on what is and is not a real change.
  • A short dashboard after each wave.

What decides the price

We do not publish list prices, because studies of the same size can be very different jobs. These are the things that move a quote:

  • Countries and audience.
  • Number of brands and questions.
  • Waves per year and the size of each wave.

Try the scoping tool to see which of these matter most for your study, or see how pulse studies, trackers and full studies work.

Where we work

Ghana, Kenya, Ethiopia and South Africa. Nigerian studies are run with our Nigeria arm, NigeriaPolls, using the same method.

Frequently asked questions

How often should a brand tracker run?

Quarterly suits most brands. A tracker that runs more often costs more and rarely tells you more unless you are running campaigns.

Will you tell competitors who commissioned the study?

No. Client names are never shared. The client approves any public case study text before it is published.

How do you keep each wave comparable?

We keep the sample design, weighting and question order identical every time, and every result states the sample it rests on, so a change you see is a change you can trust.
